Why I started to offer cannabis delivery

Over the last few months the local homeless population has grown by leaps and bounds.

The last major hurricane ravaged the southern end of the state, and drove a lot of indigent folks farther north, where many of them settled around our town.

I don’t mean to sound uncaring, but when I get asked 15 times a day for spare change it wears on my nerves. What used to be a personal pet peeve has started to impact my work. There is usually a line of clients waiting outside the store, so the homeless people have started to hang out here. The people who visit a cannabis dispensary tend to be kind, and are often stoned, which makes them easy targets. This impacts my business, because so many clients are bothered by the vagrants asking for the money that they have started going to other cannabis dispensaries! I had a brainstorm session with my staff, and we hatched the idea of offering free cannabis delivery for our Platinum customers. This would encourage more people to join our Platinum program, and allow them to order their cannabis products from the comfort of home. It was an elegant solution, and one that paid off huge dividends. Our cannabis sales quickly started to grow, and we added more and more new customers. The convenience of having cannabis delivered to your home was very appealing to our customers. Now foot traffic in the cannabis dispensary is down, but overall our sales are better than ever! I guess this whole situation was a blessing in disguise.

Drinking and cannabis are a dangerous mix for me

I used to have a major drinking problem.

I know that alcoholism has genetic influences, but in my case it was just stress and boredom.

I would pound cocktails until I got blackout drunk or did something stupid, which turned out to be rather often. After college I discovered the joys of smoking marijuana, and started to drink much less. Weed settles my nerves without making me act a fool, or lose my temper. The only problem arises when I am drinking booze and getting stoned at the same time. I can get so high that I forget how much I’m drinking, and then the cumulative effects of the booze and the cannabis get too much for me to handle. I always have cannabis at home, usually several different strains so I can pick the one that fits my mood, but I never keep alcohol in the house. Cannabis is medicine, but to me booze is like a ticking time bomb! When I go out on the town with friends, I will take a few cannabis edibles with me, but even then I am tempted to drink. I found a wonderful solution to my problem, when the local dispensary started selling cannabis drinks. Now I can drink socially without needing alcohol, because the cannabis drinks give me a wicked buzz! One day I hope all bars and taverns keep cannabis drinks in stock, because I think they are pretty amazing. If you’ve never tried cannabis drinks before, I recommend giving them a chance. They are so much better than drinking beer or liquor!

The smokers lounge should have a different name

When I first heard about the new smokers lounge I was bursting with anticipation.

In my mind’s eye, it was a place very much like a saloon or a tavern, except there wasn’t any booze, just weed.

The reality of the situation was much different than I imagined. Thanks to state and federal laws, smoking inside a public building is illegal in all cases. This applies to tobacco and cannabis, and meant that the so-called smokers lounge would have to be free of smoke. Not exactly what I expected from a “smokers” lounge. Vape products and smokeless cannabis products are allowed, but that’s it. After I got over my initial disappointment, I found that there was a lot of fun to be had from other cannabis products. Normally I am an old-school cannabis smoker. All I need is a pipe, a bong, some rolling papers, and some high quality cannabis buds and I am good to go! At the smokers lounge we can use any cannabis products we choose, so long as they are smokeless. I told the manager of the cannabis shop that they should change the name to the Non-Smokers Lounge instead, but he didn’t think it was funny. My favorite new discovery at the lounge has been the cannabis drinks. They have a small bar area, but instead of serving alcohol they serve cannabis and CBD-infused drinks, including juice, soda, water, and coffee. For some reason I find cannabis drinks to be much more gratifying than edibles. They taste good, and they get me really stoned after just a few sips.

Writing about using cannabis for my psychology class

When I was going to school I started smoking a lot of pot, but when it started to get in the way of my classes I switched gears plus tried to incorporate weed into my studies! Case in point was the large research paper I had to write for my psychology class, then I decided to use an odd topic, plus research how much cannabis use impacted our preference of motion pictures.

I actually picked horror motion pictures plus comedies in particular, because these are the two genres of motion picture that rely most heavily on emotional responses; then a comedy makes you laugh, a horror motion picture makes you fearful… Then how much does cannabis consumption affect the experience? The results will not come as a surprise to anyone who smokes cannabis regularly, since these genres of motion picture rely on automatic responses from the brain, cannabis helps people care about them even more than ever; and for example, a lot of people will simply try plus assume the ending to a horror motion picture, but when smoking cannabis they just get absorbed into the story, which makes it more terrifying.

Cannabis allows people to shut down the analytic part of their brain, plus enhance the emotional response to stimuli. While smoking some cannabis sativa before a large test won’t help you in any way, smoking out before a horror movie will help you care about it a lot more… My psychology mentor gave me a high score for the project, plus based on his notes I know it’s because he smokes a lot of cannabis himself. I wish I could write all my term papers about marijuana.

Bad dreams are muted because of cannabis

As a kid nobody ever wanted to have a sleepover with me, because I was always very weird when I was sleeping.

I would regularly talk in my sleep, and even walk in my sleep.

It creeped out all of my friends. During the day I’m fine and dandy like sour candy, but at night everything changed. In high school I tried smoking weed for the first time, and found it to be a game-changer. The first time I smoked cannabis was also the first time I ever got a good night’s sleep with no bad dreams. I’m not a scientist or a sleep researcher, so I don’t know why cannabis muted my dreams so well, but I couldn’t argue with the results. Melatonin helps me fall asleep, but always makes my dreams more vivid, which makes them scarier. With a little cannabis in the mix, those vile, disturbing nightmares seem distant, as if I’m watching them on a TV screen from across the room. The dreams are still there, but the cannabis mutes them, so they aren’t as upsetting. When I wake up I feel refreshed and recharged, and never remember what I dreamed about, and it’s all thanks to cannabis! If you have these kinds of nightmares, talk to your budtender about strains of cannabis that might help you. Cannabis may not help you like it helped me, because every brain has different chemistry, but it’s worth a shot! There are also some great websites with information about how cannabis strains can impact sleep and affect your dreams.
