In college there was a woman named Sam who lived right next to campus. She didn’t own a car, didn’t have a job, and didn‘t go to school. All Sam did was sell weed to the college students. Sam had lived in the same apartment for over 21 years, because weed is an inelastic market and there is always a high demand for it in any college town. Some years ago the state finally legalized medical cannabis, and we assumed that would put Sam out of business, but we were wrong. In fact, we have kept going back to Sam for cannabis ever since we graduated, because her prices can’t be beat. As much as we cherish the concept of the cannabis dispensary, they charge over twice as much for weed, and we just can’t afford that. Sometimes one of the local cannabis shops will have a sizable event or a special sale, and then we will show up and see what they have to offer. Most of the time even the discounted cannabis is still more luxurious than Sam’s strains. There are so many strains of cannabis we’ve heard about however never tried – like OG kush, Purple Haze, Blue Dream, and Girl Scout Cookies. Sam doesn’t have any of those. She may not have the greatest cannabis in the world, and is limited in terms of selection, however she always sells top quality weed that gets us nice and stoned. We are sure the cannabis at the dispensary is more powerful, and better tasting, however it’s simply too luxurious!

Good family place
My two good passions in life are fishing plus getting high; I can trace both of these passions to the same source – childhood fishing trips with my Dad! My Dad was a macho type of guy, not known for showing affection easily often, he was a good man, loyal, plus a good provider, he just wasn’t effusive with his feelings, but every so often Dad would wake me up before dawn plus my associate and I would drive to one of the local fishing holes a few minutes outside of town, however there in the early afternoon light my associate and I would fish, plus Dad would smoke some cannabis.
- I didn’t know it was cannabis at the time, I was too young, but I remember the smell, plus the way it made Dad act crazy plus goofy.
It was the only time I ever saw him like that! Years later, I still appreciate fishing plus getting stoned on local cannabis, even if I don’t live in the same area; One afternoon I plan to take a getaway plus visit all the old sites around town, however right now I live in a unusual state. I get all my cannabis shipped in from town, because I feel they grow the best stuff, and some mornings I wake up early plus drive to a local creek, where I smoke cannabis, fish, plus think about my Dad. I call it “the local state of mind.” No matter what is going on in my life, or how busy I am, fishing plus smoking cannabis takes me back to the idyllic mornings in town, where I felt easily cheerful.
Love my retirement
There are a lot of disappointing things about getting old.
I recently turned 60, plus celebrated by retiring from work.
My wife Helen retired a few years ago, plus has been patiently waiting for me to finish up so my associate and I can transfer on with our lives, then for all the health problems, disappointing mobility, plus other things that suck about old age, one of the greatest positives is the sense of freedom. Helen plus I are both free from tasks, from paying rent, plus from doing anything my associate and I don’t want to do. It was Helen’s idea to sell the condo plus transfer to the neighborhood where she wanted to become an artist, however at any other point in our lives this would have seemed ridiculous, however not now! My good friend and I sold our old house, moved to a small cottage in the woods outside of town, plus began our new lives. My part has become locally famous for multiple things, including their fried fish, their locally grown cannabis strains, plus their sailing regattas, however located right on the shores of the world, my associate and I officially host sailing displays, contests, plus regattas. Helen prefers to take her art supplies plus a canvas to set up on one of the piers in the local harbor. She can rest for hours, seeing the boats go by plus painting them. All the while I relax in a grass chair beside her, smoking cannabis plus taking little naps. My part is easily supportive of the arts, plus also easily tolerant of cannabis use. I think Helen plus I will be easily cheerful here.
Opening a cannabis dispensary is not easy.
I don’t know why, but I thought opening my cannabis dispensary was going to be simple.
I thought the parent company was going to do all my hiring, training, and manage the online presence.
As the director, I had to get my training routine completed, hire then train my employees, manage my online presence, and take care of the inventory. I had just walked into this job and I wasn’t sure I could do it. I had many interviews with a director named Kim from the parent company, and he had confidence in me. I told Kim I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew, even though he told me to have faith in myself. I had managed to open, hire, and even train everyone for many fast food restaurants. The cannabis dispensary was no more weird than fast food, except for weird laws and inventory. It was a challenge Kim knew I was up to. Kim showed me where all the information was in questions to ask when hiring, what type and how much inventory I needed, and even the training. Kim also handed me the booklet that talked about which online marketing companies I can call to get my new website up and running and to do my online marketing, however since the parent company paid for all my marketing and web design and development if I used one of the online marketing companies, I knew I was going to be okay. I wished Kim had given me the books before I worked myself into a tizzy about managing a cannabis dispensary. I would already have a lot of the website development underway, and looking at a cannabis dispensary expert to manage all my marketing and pre-marketing to let people know there was a new cannabis dispensary coming to this area.
They added a reliable age verifier.
I observed how many people were trying to put in online orders for marijuana delivery.
No one at my shop was asking about age and I became distraught that none of the bartenders were asking.
If people didn’t ask about the age of the customer when they placed an order, I would go to jail, then you had to be at least 21 just to enter the website. I called the online marketing company and asked for Ben, my cannabis dispensary specialist. I told Ben there were people under the age of 21 coming into the dispensary to purchase medical marijuana. This process was so much easier when my friend and I sold only medical marijuana. You had to have a medical marijuana ID card to purchase our legal marijuana products. Now, you could purchase recreational marijuana, which only needed to have a legal ID card to show you were 21. I knew what it was to forge an ID to make it seem like you were 21. When I got in touch with my website developer Ben, he told me there was no age verification tools on my website. Ben said it would be simple to do, and he could have repeat age verification on the website if someone got by the first one. It was simple to have an I am not a robot box, and even easier for some to click the “I am over 21 years of age” box, when they were not. The robot was verifiable, but the over 21 was not reliable. I wasn’t sure what they would do to the website, but I was guaranteed no one under the age of 21 could place an order or receive delivery if they were under the age of 21.
