Treating torn psoas muscle with cannabis bath bomb

I am a gymnastics instructor and run my own gym.

I work with kids of all ages, teaching them different gymnastic skills.

It is my job to not only help them advance but keep them safe as they attempt more difficult maneuvers. In order to effectively spot them, I am diligent about my own level of fitness. However, some injuries are unavoidable. About a year ago, I was spotting a class of teenaged girls as they performed round-off back handsprings. One of the girls unexpectedly veered off course. I needed to over-extend my body to guide her movement and ensure her safety. I felt a slight twinge in my upper right leg, but didn’t think anything of it. Later that night, the pain escalated, and I realized that I’d torn my psoas muscle. This muscle extends from the buttocks, down the leg, all the way to the knee. The pain was excruciating. It hurt to sit, to walk or lie down. Standing was barely tolerable. I couldn’t drive, work or even sleep properly. I am lucky that I already had a valid medical mairjuana card. I’d gotten it because of occasional bouts of insomnia and migraines. This allowed me to shop at the dispensary for plant-based pain relieving remedies. I purchased a combination of cannabis-infused ointments, roll-ons, tinctures and bath bombs. The bath bomb was especially helpful. Along with cannabis, the bath bomb contained epsom salts and essential oils such as eucalyptus. The hot water helped to open my pores and accelerate the absorption of cannabinoids such as CBD and CBN.

Using cannabis to treat leg cramps

I workout every morning for approximately an hour.

  • My level of fitness, maintaining a proper weight and staying healthy are important to me.

My exercise sessions are quite demanding. I start with a dedicated warm up and then transition into high intensity aerobics. I spend some time on a variety of strength training and then focus on stretching and balance before my cool-down. The majority of the exercises work my legs in some way. To elevate my heart rate, I often jump rope for a half an hour. I might go for a run or pedal the stationary bike. I include jumping jacks, mountain climbers and burpees. To tone and strengthen my muscles, I perform different types of lunges and squats. Over the last couple of years, I have begun to have problems with leg cramps at night. As soon as I settle into bed, my calves tighten up and threaten to cramp. The pain is excruciating. I need to get out of bed and stretch my muscles. This doesn’t alway alleviate the cramping. For a while, I was sleeping with heating pads wrapped around my legs. The cords made this somewhat difficult, uncomfortable and nearly impossible to sleep. I finally went through the process of applying for my medical marijuana card. The qualification was easier and quicker than I expected. As soon as I received my MMJ card, I headed to the dispensary. The budtender listened to my issues and helped me navigate the huge selection of products. I now apply a cannabis-infused topical to my legs in the morning after my shower and again right before bed. Most nights, I have no concerns with leg cramps. On the rare night when the pain flares up, I keep a cannabis tincture in the drawer of my nightstand. I choose an indica strain with an equal ratio of CBD and THC to both alleviate pain and help me sleep.

Using medical weed to sleep with baby next to me

With my baby sleeping in the bassinet beside me, I don’t get any rest. He makes all sorts of noises. I also am a very light sleeper and can easily develop insomnia. Thankfully I am not breastfeeding or there would be no hope of wanting to help me. I am strictly bottle feeding formula. That means I can rely on cannabis in order to sleep at night. There are certain nights my son is just so noisy. He grunts and groans. He has gas pains, a bubble or wants to eat early. A little bit of cannabis in my system makes a world of difference. The weed keeps me calm and relaxed. I don’t mind getting up when I am a bit high. Also, the combination of THC and CBD allows me to fall asleep quicker and in a deeper sleep. My son really has to make noise if he wants to wake me up. What is nice is that I don’t have to smoke anything and worry about my son inhaling the fumes. My product is actually a tincture. It is an oil based cannabis product that goes directly under my tongue before bed. There is a slight aftertaste but it is totally worth it. Also, I get a more potent tincture since I am a medical weed patient. It was simple getting the prescription. I found a doctor that could give me the script, filled out some paperwork and then I was good to go. I am now able to sleep fairly well for having a newborn. That is all I can really hope for at this stage of light right?

Easy getting medical weed for chronic pain

Becoming a medical marijuana patient was so easy.

I really thought it was going to take a lot of work, time and effort on my part.

Instead, I could easily arrange it. I found a local guy that could prescribe me weed. Honestly, the worst part was sitting in the waiting room. Once I was taken back I only had to answer a few questions. Basically he wanted to know what I needed medical weed for. I have chronic pain. My back and neck area flares up. I wanted cannabis in order to reduce inflammation and aid in muscle recovery. After that, I got a script written. I filled out some paperwork online and then I paid the fee. Next was waiting for the medical weed card to come in the mail. It took around two weeks and then I was good to go. For my chronic pain I vape cannabis oil. It works wonders. I feel so much looser and more relaxed in the mornings now. I don’t wake up with pain either. I can easily hop out of bed. Eventually I am hoping to reduce my dosage or severity of cannabis so I can get back to normal. My goal is to not always be reliant on medical weed. For Now it works wonders and I am so thankful that I have it in my arsenal. I will definitely renew my medical weed card again and again until I no longer need it. It has been such a game changer for my health. I sleep better and feel better now as a result.

Some of my conservative friends still love marijuana

That’s why you can’t really view cannabis like a partisan issue

I think it’s important to have people in your life with differing opinions. If you selectively create an echo chamber everywhere you go either in person or online, you run the risk of never growing as a human being. Sometimes people can get too extreme and behave with a toxic mindset, but too often people will remove others from their lives just because they don’t agree on every single political belief. For instance, my father and I get along really well but we don’t always see eye to eye on political topics. However, even in our worst disagreements, we each expose one another to topics and viewpoints that might otherwise completely allude us. This diversity of opinion is a really great thing when two human beings have enough respect for one another to be civil. Some of my best friends have vastly differing viewpoints from my own as well. But, among all of the people I know across the entire political spectrum, one issue that seems to unite many of us is the topic of medical cannabis. It’s not like it was when I was a kid when you saw conservatives en masse condemning all use of the marijuana plant. Nowadays you can see that conservatives and people on the right wing are often some of the biggest champions for legalizing cannabis in all forms. That’s why you can’t really view cannabis like a partisan issue. My most conservative friend for instance smokes more weed than I do on a weekly basis. It’s great that all of us can come together and enjoy cannabis without getting into political disagreements over it like we would have 20 years ago. I’m just happy to see that things have changed and people all over the political spectrum have embraced cannabis to this degree.
