Checking for live resin quality

Cannabis continues to grow in acceptance and popularity, creating a multi billion dollar industry.

The rapidly increasing demand has led to new cannabis farmers and producers entering the market.

While the majority of the products sold at the local dispensary are carefully curated and exceptional, I’m always watchful of poor quality. I realize that the industry is still relatively new. Regulations are gradually evolving. I typically shop for cannabis resin, which is a semi-solid to solid substance that is dark brown and rather sticky. Resins are found on the trichomes that cover the surface of cannabis buds. The trichomes are responsible for the cannabinoids and terpenes. Because of this, resins are especially desirable. Authentic resin is typically much more expensive than dried flower. If I come across cheap resin, I know that it’s poor quality. However, a smaller quantity is required. True resin delivers THC potency anywhere between 50% and 95%. It doesn’t take much to deliver intensive effects. For me, it’s all about purity. I am willing to pay more for premium cannabis extracts. I look for a light golden color of oils and concentrate. I check that the product has been lab tested and verified. I always ask for recommendations from the budtenders at the dispensary. They are always knowledgeable in the products and often have firsthand experience. I’ve also gotten familiar with the names of reputable producers of concentrates and my favorite strains. My local dispensary is strenuous in its standards for excellent live resin. The flavor profiles and aromas are preserved through a proper extraction process. It is important that the plant material is kept cool and never exposed to temperatures above 65 to 70 degrees.

Looking at hiring software for cannabis dispensaries

I finally got to a leadership position within a cannabis dispensary.

I started as a lowly budtender but I was dedicated to my position.

I tried to take any shift that my manager needed filled and educated myself immensely on cannabinoids and terpenes and their effects on various ailments and disorders. It didn’t take long for my managers to take notice. I remember filling in for an older employee when they had to be at the hospital for their wife delivering a baby, and my boss was really happy with my positive attitude. He asked me on a number of other occasions to fill in under similar circumstances and I was happy to oblige. It’s easier being in this position when you’re young and without any family commitments or responsibilities. It definitely paid off because now I’m a manager at the same cannabis dispensary. Unfortunately, I have to do things I never expected, like hiring employees. We are using a special hiring software that is made for cannabis dispensaries, but I’m not always the best person when it comes to learning new software. With enough Youtube videos and internet guides, I was able to learn the software eventually. It’s supposed to make the process of hiring new employees to the cannabis dispensary easier than before. I’m still not sure how I feel about the cannabis dispensary hiring software, but I use it regardless. I know my managers want me to learn all of the software that comes with working at a cannabis dispensary. It takes time but it’s worth the effort I put in by the end.

A special meal at the cannabis cafe

For our anniversary, my partner booked us a table at the most exclusive restaurant in town.

She had made the reservation three months earlier, however never told me about it so it could be a surprise for me.

This locale is incredibly busy, and it takes that long just to get a table for dinner! When he told me that my buddy and I were going to the cannabis cafe for our large dinner, I was beside myself with excitement. I had been wanting to go there ever since it opened last year, however as I said the seats were highly in demand, dressed to the nines, my partner and I took an Uber to the cannabis cafe for the meal of a lifetime. My nice friend and I knew better than to drive, because the meal would involve so numerous cannabis products it would be illegal and dangerous for us to drive back condo afterward. The first course was a light appetizer of a crab salad, with a dusting of crystalized cannabis over the top of it. I couldn’t detect a hint of marijuana flavor in the salad, however by the time I finished eating it I was already buzzed. The main course was a pan-fried fish filet, accompanied by a yellow sauce that blended three odd cannabis strains along with pine nuts and herbs… For dessert my buddy and I had a marijuana sorbet topped with caramel made from cannabis oil. The meal contained so much cannabis that I was still high when I woke up the next day! I don’t even remember taking an Uber back condo from the cannabis cafe.

Art night at the cannabis dispensary

Art and weed go hand in hand. I don’t care what kind of art you like to do, smoking weed will enhance it… Be it music, sculpting, drawing, painting, or making collages, every form of creativity can be aided by using a little cannabis. In my case I use a lot of weed, not just a little. I like to get stoned to the moon and back when I lay down to paint a new canvas. I can still do my art when I am sober and clear-headed, however it just isn’t as much fun! Recently I got to combine my two number one things in the world when the local cannabis dispensary hosted an event they called “Stoned Painting.” This is exactly what it sounds like, a night when purchasers could hang out in the smokers lounge of the cannabis dispensary and toil on a painting. I have heard of something similar, involving wine instead of marijuana, however that didn’t sound like nearly as much fun, however there were twelve of us who gathered in the small smokers lounge behind the cannabis dispensary, where a local artist led us in a painting session, however my nice friend and I all painted the same image, a bird perched on the edge of a crescent moon, however most people was allowed to smoke or vape whatever kind of cannabis they wanted. Much to my surprise, some of the people there didn’t smoke cannabis at all! That didn’t stop me from enjoying myself. I bought a pre-rolled joint of Purple Haze and had it dangling from the corner of my mouth as I worked diligently on my painting.

The cannabis strain was more of an indica than a sativa

Cannabis strains can be vastly strange from one plant to the next.

  • Some cannabis strains are more uplifting in addition to energizing, while others leave you feeling weary in addition to ready for a nap.

I went to the cannabis shop in addition to I picked up a couple products. One of the products was a brand current cannabis strain called Caribbean fire. The cannabis strain was supposed to be a sativa hybrid. The cannabis strain was the first thing that I opened when I got back that morning. I looked at the buds in addition to they were easily lush in addition to plump. I was thrilled about the amount of stem in the product. I do not like when I get a cannabis strain that is almost all stem. It has to be trimmed down in addition to prepared before it goes into the grinder or I cannot put it inside of a cone. The cone will rip if there is the tiniest part of the stem inside of the cannabis blend. I filled a 1 gram cone with some of the Caribbean fire cannabis strain. I smoked the entire joint by myself. The stream was easily flavorful in addition to I could tell that it had limonene terpenes inside. The Cannabis strain tasted like lemons in addition to grapefruits. Unfortunately, it seemed to be much more of an indica than a sativa, however when I was done with the 1 gram cannabis pre-roll, I felt like I needed to take a nap. I was expecting to be energized in addition to filled with energy to complete some chores although I was lazy in addition to wanted to kneel down on the bed instead.
