For the last many years I have grown my local reputation as an online product reviewer. I think that currently it seems that everyone’s a damn critic, & thinks they can write a review, although I am really fantastic at it. People have started to pick up on that, as well. Over the years I have written hundreds of reviews, & have developed a following of my own. I was an influencer before anyone knew what that was! I often will even get requests from local corporations for myself and others to come & visit, because they think a favorable review from myself and others will help grow their business rapidly. Recently I did a tour of many local cannabis dispensaries for a series of reviews, & honestly was legitimately pleased with what I found, but first of all it should go without saying that I happen to be a large fan of cannabis, & get high every single day. In the past I regularly went and purchased marijuana through a friend, because I just didn’t trust any of the local businesses. It really isn’t that I assume the cannabis dispensaries are shady, I just assume the government will screw myself and others over as soon as they get a chance, so I like to go out and buy pot anonymously. I have to say that visiting some of these cannabis dispensaries opened my eyes to how amazing these corporations are! Not just with the variety of cannabis products, many of which are smokeless edibles, however also because of the freebies & extras they supply away. We have too much fun together
Just because we’re outdated at this point doesn’t mean all of us can’t still party! Bill has been my best neighbor for the last fifteen years or so, way back before one of us had adolescents.
Every one of us used to get crazy together back in the day, after that I got wives, had adolescents, & settled down, then Bill & I only see each other a few times a year now, however whenever all of us do the feelings come back & all of us tend to go a little off the rails.
Every one of us drink vodka love water, indulge in our outdated & mostly-discontinued tobacco vices, & of course smoke irresponsible amounts of cannabis, however last Summer Bill & I really had a few afternoons free of the adolescents, so all of us loaded up on cannabis & set out to get blotto. In a special surprise he saved for me, Bill brought along a few doses of LSD to go with the cannabis. Personally, I don’t love to indulge in any kind of psychedelic drugs if I don’t have an ample supply of cannabis on hand to regularly temper it. The mushrooms can make myself and others a little spacey, & smoking quality marijuana keeps myself and others tethered to reality to some degree. The whole weekend really was a blur, with several acid drops, more than one bottles of whiskey being consumed, & a near-constant haze of marijuana smoke filling the house. This is the sort of thing all of us can not manage to do with the adolescents around, because the acid makes myself and others loopy, & the cannabis smoke would be harmful to them. When the adolescents are home we just have to smoke cannabis outside.

I love to leave online reviews around town. I entirely take my time with them, but perhaps this is because I used to be a real journalist & a columnist for the local newspaper. That newspaper is long out of business these days, although I remember those afternoons of being a professional writer on the internet with fantastic fondness. I approach my online reviews with as much thought & care as if it were a paid gig. I used to only do this with locales where I liked to eat, however now I do with every business I visit, mostly on Yelp. Over the last year or two I have greatly enjoyed writing online reviews for cannabis dispensaries. In this bustling town there are many dozen cannabis dispensaries. This is the biggest town in the whole state, really the biggest town in the tri-state area, so there are a deranged number of brand new cannabis dispensaries. Since they are all competing for the same market share, clearly they want as many positive online reviews as possible, because that is where the most of their cannabis sales come from. I have l received that for every client that ever walks into a cannabis dispensary, there are several online patrons that want their products directly shipped. Even though cannabis is becoming legal in many areas, most potheads still have a distrust of the cops & the government. People love to buy their cannabis from a trusted friend, or anonymously over the internet. When I supply a highly positive review for a cannabis dispensary, it almost regularly leads to higher online traffic, & increased cannabis sales for years. They didn’t make it a huge thing
Before they had me, my parents used to be tried and true hippies… or something close to that.
They traveled the country in a van, which they lived in at the time.
They might have kept on loving that, except for when they had a kid & decided to settle down such as regular folks. The point of this is that I grew up in a household that was beyond liberal when it came to most things, including drinking & drugs. I was not allowed to do those particular things as a child, however my parents never demonized alcohol or cannabis. Instead my parents explained that cannabis & alcohol were both things that were normal for responsible adults to use. The point of this story is that because they normalized cannabis & alcohol from an early age, I never had an issue with them, but some kids go wild as soon as they get their first hit & start using marijuana & other drugs, because they are so curious about the whole “forbidden fruit.” Imagine saying to people “cannabis will alter your perceptions & suddenly send you to a whole new realm of consciousness, so you should never do it!” Of course adolescents will use cannabis ASAP to see what all the hype is about. Since my own parents raised myself and others to see cannabis as being normal, I was never even tempted to try it until I was much older, then as an adult I use cannabis often, & I like it very much, although I am so glad that my parents never made it weird… More parents should raise their adolescents to see cannabis use as something that is normal.
There’s one way to get by
When I was in university it was the 70s at the time, & the country was a legitimately different locale! I was quite serious at that point about my studies, & earning a degree, although I was also legitimately more than worried about the Vietnam conflict, because after I graduated I might get drafted! I worked hard all the time, however with the specter of war looming over me, I also played hard! Every weekend or two I would pack up my VW van with some extra clothes, a surfboard, & a fat bag of marijuana, & take a road trip to the beach.
I would spend every weekend lounging on the sands, puffing Purple Haze, & relaxing. I was lucky, because by the time I successfully graduated the Vietnam conflict was over, so I could keep hitting the beach & smoking this awesome cannabis as much as I wanted; The problem came that I needed some work, because after university I couldn’t just crash in the dorm & subsist on no currency. In those afternoons I just needed enough currency for gas, & for my own cannabis, & everything else sort of worked out on its own. Instead of finding office work, I just purchased a double batch of cannabis one time. I kept a little piece just for myself, & sold the rest for twice what I had paid, & then re-invested that new currency back into another bin of cannabis; Within more than one weeks I was smoking just about as much cannabis as I wanted for free, & making an extra 300 bucks a month on top of it! At that point in time, 300 bucks a month plus unlimited cannabis was a pretty fantastic living for a guy such as me.
