I was able to appreciate all kinds of cannabis on my labor trip

I wasn’t looking forward to taking the labor trip.

  • I legitimately didn’t want to do it.

I don’t like airplanes too much, I don’t like renting a car, booking a room, or any of the other things similar to that which comes with traveling for work… My boss provided me with no option in the matter, and insisted that I attend the trade show, which was all the way across the whole nation, but the flight there was delayed, and took me 6 hours instead of 3, so it started off poorly. When I finally got to my endpoint, I was blissful to see that recreational cannabis was legal in this city. My luck seemed to be changing for the better! Before I checked into my hotel, I went to a weed store and spent as much as $300 on a variety of products. If I was going to spend all morning listening to convention speakers talking about boring sales techniques, I wanted to have an ample amount of cannabis in my body to make it tolerable! During breaks in between lectures I would go ahead and come back up to my room for additional cannabis. On morning two I was able to learn the joys of cannabis gummies, and ate a bunch of them during a three-hour long presentation. I had a marvelous time, and made sure to get myself a few extra packages of cannabis gummies to take back to my residence with me. On the other hand, I am kind of blissful that I don’t have legal cannabis in my hometown. I have an extreme lack of self-control, so if I had access to cannabis 24/7 I would absolutely stay stoned always.

Cannabis flower products are probably the most popular in my state

I heard recently that over 40% of adults in the United States admit to using cannabis.

Granted, I don’t know if that’s on a regular basis or just a few times a month, but it’s still an amazing thing to think about as a cannabis user myself.

I want to see the stigma on cannabis use erode in every conceivable capacity. I grew up in an environment of alcoholism. I’ll never forget the anti-drug classes that I had to attend in the late 90s and early 2000s where cannabis was compared to heroin and crack cocaine. It was really unfortunate at the time seeing how much cannabis was demonized by the elite and the establishment. Even the culture around me was largely restrictive regarding marijuana use. But these days that’s completely different. So many people use cannabis and it’s becoming more and more accepted as years go by. As far as legal cannabis products go at campus dispensaries, I think the most popular cannabis products these days are cannabis flower products. That’s the whole plant version of weed. A lot of people just want to buy buds of cannabis and roll them up into joints. I buy cannabis flower products but I usually put them in a dry herb vaporizer instead. I just think that my cannabis flower buds last a lot longer when I use them in a vaporizer versus buying rolling papers and smoking joints and blunts. It’s really nice to smoke a cannabis joint from time to time, but it’s really wasteful with a lot of the plant going up in smoke. That’s why cannabis dry herb vaporizers are so efficient.

I've started using cannabis edibles more often

I can pull out a piece of candy at work and no one will have any idea what’s in it

I started to develop back problems and I was working for an animal rescue in my early twenties. I had to lift dogs a lot throughout the day and would often lift with my back instead of my legs. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize what sort of long-term damage I was causing at the time. Every single time I would lift with my back I think I was giving myself a little bit of damage to my spine. After so many years of this I started to develop sciatic problems. The sciatic nerve must have gotten damaged at some point. Even though I have a job these days where I sit at a computer, sitting in the chair at a weird angle sometimes causes my sciatic nerve to get inflamed. And then I have physical pain going from the base of my back down the length of my left leg. One of the things that helps with the pain the most is cannabis. I try to take ibuprofen and acetaminophen, but you can only take so much of either of those medications before you cause physical damage to your body. Luckily with cannabis and THC you don’t have to worry about damaging your body when you consume either. On top of that, I can use cannabis edibles regardless of where I’m at or where I’m stationed. I can pull out a piece of candy at work and no one will have any idea what’s in it. Not only is it discreet, but a cannabis edible kicks in and lasts for at least 4 hours. Sometimes when you smoke cannabis it’ll wear off within 30 to 60 minutes if it isn’t particularly strong. But with cannabis edibles, I can consume them throughout the afternoon and not worry about needing more until I get home from work.

Why I love working at the cannabis dispensary

Potheads are good people, by and large.

I work in a weed shop, all day every day I deal with people who are either stoned, or about to get stoned.

I love my job. These are kind hearted people with good senses of humor, and they make it fun to go to work. I have worked a lot of retail sales positions over the years, but this one at the cannabis dispensary is easily the best one ever. Let me give you a perfect example of why I love to work here. A few weeks ago someone abandoned a cardboard box full of kittens behind the shop. One of the customers told me about it. I was angry that someone would dump baby kittens like that. On the other hand, I couldn’t adopt so many animals myself. I took a pic of the kittens, and showed it to every customer who came into the cannabis dispensary. I told everyone about the kittens, and said if they adopted one and took it home then I would give them a $25 gift card to the cannabis dispensary. I had three people take me up on the offer, and I gave them each a gift card for the cannabis shop. At the end of the day I saw that all the kittens were gone. Other cannabis customers had adopted them, not for a gift card, but just because it was the kind thing to do. This is why I think potheads are pretty amazing, and why I always want to work at this cannabis dispensary.

Growing cannabis during quarantine

I am glad those days are behind us, and I can go to the cannabis dispensary again

I first tried my hand at growing cannabis plants during the COVID lockdown. My roommate Ben and I were trapped in our apartment for several months. To fight off cabin fever and keep ourselves sane, we played games, watched movies, and started several new hobbies. I tried my hand at painting, only to find I wasn’t very good at it. Ben remodeled his bedroom, and decorated the entire house… but he wasn’t very good at that, either. Then he came across an old tin he had, which was filled with cannabis seeds. We had some old flower pots and a handful of marijuana seeds, so we decided to compete and see who grew the best weed. If you have never tried your hand at growing cannabis, let me tell you it takes a lot of time and effort, with minimal results. Ben and I were both rank amateurs with cannabis horticulture, and we never would have tried if we weren’t going crazy from being cooped up in quarantine. It took several weeks to get right, but all of the marijuana we produced was substandard at best. Most of the marijuana plants were so weak and filled with seeds that they were unfit for smoking at all. Although we got no usable cannabis out of the experiment, at least it was a fun project to kill the time. I am glad those days are behind us, and I can go to the cannabis dispensary again. I love to smoke high quality marijuana, but I’m just no good at growing it myself.
