A reminder about the heating contractor flashed on my iPhone’s screen, all thanks to technology where I could easily set reminders on my smart thermostat that synced with my iPhone.

With the old dial thermostat, this would not be at all possible. The challenge was that I was miles away from home, plus I had missed last year’s heating system service, plus I knew that the heat pump needed servicing.
