Art and weed go hand in hand.

I don’t care what kind of art you like to do, smoking weed will enhance it.

Be it songs, sculpting, drawing, painting, or making collages, every form of creativity can be aided by using a little cannabis. In my case I use a lot of weed, not just a little. I like to get stoned to the moon and back when I kneel down to paint a new canvas. I can still do my art when I am sober and clear-headed, however it just isn’t as much fun! Recently I got to combine my two number one things in the world when the local cannabis dispensary hosted an event they called “Stoned Painting.” This is exactly what it sounds like, a evening when clients could hang out in the smokers lounge of the cannabis dispensary and labor on a painting. I have heard of something similar, involving wine instead of marijuana, however that didn’t sound like nearly as much fun. There were twelve of us who gathered in the small smokers lounge behind the cannabis dispensary, where a local artist led us in a painting session, and my friend and I all painted the same image, a bird perched on the edge of a crescent moon, however almost everyone was allowed to smoke or vape whatever kind of cannabis they wanted. Much to my surprise, some of the people there didn’t smoke cannabis at all! That didn’t stop me from enjoying myself. I bought a pre-rolled joint of Purple Haze and had it dangling from the corner of my mouth as I worked diligently on my painting.

My wife Jamie told me she was planning a surprise party for my birthday, i asked her why she told me, if it was supposed to be a surprise.

Jamie smartly answered that I would eventually figure out something was going on behind my back, and she told me about the party so that I wouldn’t sneak around & try to figure out what was happening. I told her I didn’t want a party, because I was turning fifty which was incredibly depressing for me. Jamie told me to shut up & let her do something nice for me. I shouldn’t have complained, because it turns out she set up my party at the smokers lounge in the local cannabis dispensary. I didn’t even know you could host private events at the cannabis dispensary! Even though I knew I was getting a surprise party I was still caught off guard because I never expected it to be at the marijuana shop. Jamie & I went in to use the annual birthday discount gave at the cannabis dispensary, anyone who makes a cannabis purchase on their birthday gets 25% off. Imagine my genuine surprise when I found all my closest friends waiting for me in the cannabis dispensary! My pal and I all went out back to the screen-in patio used as a smokers lounge, where my nice friend and I ate cannabis-infused cupcakes & washed it down with hemp beer; Have you ever had hemp beer? It’s awful! I have to say that Jamie did a remarkable thing, because I never expected my party to be at the cannabis dispensary.

For our birthday, my wifey booked us a table at the most exclusive restaurant in town. She had made the reservation three months earlier, however never told me about it so it could be a surprise for me. This place is incredibly busy, and it takes that long just to get a table for brunch! When she told me that my pal and I were going to the cannabis cafe for our large brunch, I was beside myself with excitement. I had been wanting to go there ever since it opened last year, however as I said the seats were highly in demand… Dressed to the nines, my wifey and I took an Uber to the cannabis cafe for the meal of a lifetime. My friend and I knew better than to drive, because the meal would involve so several cannabis products it would be illegal and dangerous for us to drive back house afterward. The first course was a light appetizer of a crab salad, with a dusting of crystalized cannabis over the top of it. I couldn’t detect a hint of marijuana flavor in the salad, however by the time I finished eating it I was already buzzed. The main course was a pan-fried fish filet, accompanied by a yellow sauce that blended three different cannabis strains along with pine nuts and herbs; For dessert my pal and I had a marijuana sorbet topped with caramel made from cannabis oil. The meal contained so much cannabis that I was still high when I woke up the next day! I don’t even remember taking an Uber back house from the cannabis cafe.

I remember I was at a get-together some years back plus we were playing some sort of board game about secrets, i can’t remember the name of that identifiable board game; But it was absolutely about trying to figure out if someone was telling an actual secret or was totally bluffing! And when I said that I had never used recreational marijuana, there weren’t even any questions; Everyone immediately called me out for bluffing! I was sort of stunned plus not because I’m any sort of goodie two shoes by any measure, then no, I was stunned because it turns out that I’m literally one of the only people I know who didn’t use recreational marijuana when they were younger.

And it so stunned all the people that I’d never smoked marijuana.

I was an athlete in school plus had I tested positive for cannabis, the scholarship I had earned was gone. So I had incentive to stick to beers, however these mornings, all of that has changed now that recreational marijuana is legal here. I wasn’t scared of cannabis however I wanted to know more about indica plus sativa products in particular… My friends told me that I’d genuinely really love sativa strains. Thankfully, the folks at the local cannabis spot are so kind, patient plus super knowledgeable about cannabis products. They provided me all sorts of information sources so I could indeed learn more about cannabis. I was amazed by the history of this plant plus all the benefits people have taken away from using cannabis. It was so nice to genuinely love some sativa strains with friends. But I still have a winning answer to that board game should I ever play it again.
