Did your parents smoke weed when you were a little kid? Did this only happen in my experience? I have to laugh about it sometimes, because it never occurred to me until recently.

I am in my mid 30s, and have two children of my own.

I smoke weed basically every morning, however I keep it secret from the teenagers. I only smoke outside, so that I don’t expose them to secondhand pot smoke and end up hurting their fragile lungs. It made me wonder about my own parents, and if they smoked marijuana when I was young, the same way I do these days! One morning my teenagers will be grown up, and smoking cannabis just about anywhere, and will have the same question about me. Last weekend I stopped by to help my dad with some yard work, because he is getting pretty old. I asked him point blank if he and mom smoked cannabis when I was a kid. Dad laughed and then said “son, my associate and I still smoke cannabis, and have for your entire life.” Like me, dad regularly smoked marijuana outside so the smoke wouldn’t affect me too much at all. My good pal and I did the yard labor together, then went inside where dad took out a monster sized glass jar filled with cannabis. There must have been seven ounces worth of marjuana in there! He hand rolled the largest joint I have ever seen in all my days, and then we sat together drinking soda and smoking cannabis for the rest of the afternoon. One morning I hope that I can smoke cannabis with my teenagers, however that probably will never happen.

My friends and I went to a lot of different places last Thursday when everything at the dispensary near us was on sale. Every single dispensary had a pretty big sale due to the fact that it was 420. All of the marijuana shops were giving away something for free. Some places were giving away pre-rolls and other places were giving away bigger items such as t-shirts, hats, pins, and bags. My friends and I were at a huge sale in the morning and they had a lot of doorbuster deals. We were able to buy a gram of diamond infused top shelf marijuana flower for $1 as well as a marijuana cartridge, two bags of edibles, and two infused pre-rolls. All of the items were only $1 because my friends and I were the first 50 people through the door. We waited in line at a lot of different places that day and we got a lot of free stuff. I ended up with a whole bag that was filled with different types of edibles. One of my favorite edibles was the pineapple flavored ones. I had blueberry, orange, pineapple, and mango. I really liked the blueberry flavored ones, but the pineapple marijuana edibles were easily the most flavorful out of all of the different ones. I don’t know if I would actually buy those products in the store, though, because they are regularly priced $25 and that is a huge amount of money for edibles. They taste really good, but that is a little bit out of my price range.

When I was a young one, my Grandmother was a chain smoker.

She smoked at least a pack of cigarettes every morning, from the early morning time through the evening hours.

She regularly smoked the same brand too. I won’t say the name of the brand, because I don’t want to supply them with free advertising, however it was regularly the same brand. I asked her why she didn’t smoke other kinds of cigarettes, and she didn’t have an answer for that question. She basically shrugged and said she just liked this one the best. Recently I have realized that I have a similar attitude towards cannabis. There are a handful of cannabis strains and products that I prefer immensely, and I rarely try anything new or different. I need to start with saving more currency every month, and one excellent way I found to cut back on my cannabis budget is to bargain shop, and try new strains. My legitimately preferred kind of weed is known as OG Kush, and there are several variants of it that are all equally excellent. OG Kush is a premium strain, and commands a relatively high price. Much like Grandmother and her preferred brand of cigarettes, I regularly want this overpriced strain of cannabis. I pretty much had to expand my horizons, and sample other kinds of cannabis to see if I could find one that was just as impressive for a cheaper price. I also started to check the weed store websites every week to find out if anyone was having a nice deal of OG Kush. That strain will regularly be my most enjoyed, however I am learning that there are some other incredible strains to find.

Quite some time ago, potentially even 30 years ago, I was given a golden chance and I let it pass foolishly. At the time video rental stores were popular, however renting VHS tapes and DVDs was a billion dollar market. It was actually around this time that the first Redbox machines started to come around outside of stores. A neighbor of mine had an opening to purchase a Redbox machine, and he provided to chop me in on the deal. I thought it seemed like a dumb investment, so I passed. I have been kicking myself ever since that time, because I would have made a substantial amount of money. So when my workmate Steve asked me to invest in his new weed store, I jumped at the chance. I came to realize the cannabis industry was on fire, and I couldn’t let another golden opening escape me! The only real drawback was the size of the investment. It was a large amount of currency, however in order to win a good amount of money, I certainly needed to risk big, so I sunk every dollar I had into the weed store. I even cleared out my retirement fund and my 401K just to buy a minority share of the cannabis shop. Now I am waiting with baited breath, because it will take some time to show a profit at the weed store. All I can do until then is be super patient, and promote the cannabis shop with social media and online advertising techniques. This cannabis venture is a heightened risk, however I am cautiously optimistic that I will wind up making a reasonable amount of money in the future.

Potheads are good people, by and large.

I work in a weed shop, all day every day I deal with people who are either stoned, or about to get stoned.

I love my job. These are kind hearted people with good senses of humor, and they make it fun to go to work. I have worked a lot of retail sales positions over the years, but this one at the cannabis dispensary is easily the best one ever. Let me give you a perfect example of why I love to work here. A few weeks ago someone abandoned a cardboard box full of kittens behind the shop. One of the customers told me about it. I was angry that someone would dump baby kittens like that. On the other hand, I couldn’t adopt so many animals myself. I took a pic of the kittens, and showed it to every customer who came into the cannabis dispensary. I told everyone about the kittens, and said if they adopted one and took it home then I would give them a $25 gift card to the cannabis dispensary. I had three people take me up on the offer, and I gave them each a gift card for the cannabis shop. At the end of the day I saw that all the kittens were gone. Other cannabis customers had adopted them, not for a gift card, but just because it was the kind thing to do. This is why I think potheads are pretty amazing, and why I always want to work at this cannabis dispensary.
